(The name "Episteme" is from the philosophical term "episteme" and the Ancient Greek word "ἐπιστήμη" meaning "science" or "knowledge", because I used to study epistemology at the University of Illinois. It started out as Episteme Software, a little company I had when I was working on Network Time. Now it's the name of my consulting LLC. I've also come to discover that there is a genus of moth named "Episteme". And it also turns out that "episteme" is a nice, albeit completely accidental, anagram for "Pete is me".)
I live in Urbana, Illinois (a lovely little town which ocasionally has nice weather). Most of the time, I do some consulting on Internet technology, standards, and open source, including doing some expert witness work on Internet e-mail cases.
